Home Assistant Modules

Special Needs

Blind

RALPH Home Assistant requires the people using it to voice train, meaning they must read several short sections of stories so RALPH can learn their speech and pronunciation.  Braille printers are available for this training and can be borrowed from the council for the blind or rented from many accessibility sources.

Severe paralysis

Those with severe paralysis and loss of articulated speech can use RALPH adapted with either bump pads, large push buttons, head mounted mice or blow tubes.  With these devices, RALPH will speak multiple options and the user will choose an option, then speak next options and continue until  proper device or action is selected.  Many different scenarios can be created using these alternate input methods.  Other people can still use the normal voice control and pushbutton controls.
